About
Sometimes you just fall into the right spot; for me, that spot is UI/UX Design. After graduating from Western Illinois University (1996) I began my career as a graphic designer working for an automotive aftermarket company that made its name selling Peak Antifreeze.
Old World Industries, Inc. allowed me to design everything from trade show displays to packaging to apparel to point of purchase. However, the software application world was calling my name and after what seemed like a short time, I was the Internet Manager in charge of 8 websites.
Fast forward and its wireframes, use case documents, testing, modeling users and devices, more testing, the IoT, surveys, connectivity, overcoming error cases, and more testing. With the help of tools like Sketch, Axure, Balsamiq, JIRA/Azure DevOps, and the full suite of Adobe products, my career revolves around getting in the minds of others . . . and I love it!
Most recently, I have been tackling exciting new features at BigTime Software, a professional services automation company. The company provided a lot of data to the companies they serve and wanted to expand its data-driven thought process by offering configurable dashboards. Another recent initiative was jumping into the multi-currency ring. Both major features on the BigTime platform that required an experienced user experience designer.
